Spring Kickoff Volunteer Event

Volunteers joined the Environmental Stewardship Team in welcoming Spring with the season’s kickoff event on Sunday, March 27. We successfully closed a large desire line at the east entrance of the Pat Dolan Trail. With this desire line closure, volunteers will be preventing the public from accessing and damaging vulnerable areas of the preserve where active restoration of this freshwater wetlands is taking place. This also helps prepare the area for spring plantings along the trail in the coming weeks! After the closure, volunteers removed about 2 garbage bags of litter from the trail and were lucky enough to end the day by spotting 2 Bald Eagles across the Lake! What a great day at the Preserve.
