All volunteers act as stewards of the park, taking care of an area that is used by New Yorkers and people all over the world. The efforts of volunteers make it possible to maintain Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Volunteering at our Park is a great way to meet other community members, get to know the Park staff, build your resume, gain environmental awareness and become part of the story of the historic park land.
The Flushing Meadows Corona Park team, with support from The Alliance for FMCP, offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for individuals, families, students, corporate organizations and community groups. Service projects have included raking leaves, mulching, removing litter, painting benches, weeding, planting and a variety other activities to suit groups of all types and sizes. FMCP is also home to ecologically unique natural areas which include a protected wetland, lake and brackish shoreline. To learn more about the stewardship efforts in these areas visit our Natural Areas page.
There are a variety of volunteer activities throughout the year. For upcoming volunteer events check our Events page.
