Rain Garden Recharge Volunteer Event

Volunteers finished the grass trimming, pruning, and cutting of grasses bushes and shrubs in the gardens around Meadow Lake that was started at our last event. Trimming back the foliage and removing dead grass is essential in allowing for the plants to maintain healthy growth, an aesthetic look, and preventing overcrowding and outcompeting with other nearby plants. We were also able to remove invasive plant species (Phramites and Mugwort) found around the Lake, along with cultivating the soil that has become compacted over the winter months.
