Willow Lake Trail Maintenance

Saturday, December 18, 2021 was our Willow Lake Trail Maintenance event. Despite the gloomy weather, our 11 volunteers in attendance helped to completely close a large desire line located near the Bird Blind. Using fallen tree limbs, bags of fallen leaves, and cut branches from the tree maintenance around the park, volunteers blockaded the desire line to make it impassable to the public. This will aid in the recovery of this section of the preserve that has been trampled from unwelcome foot traffic.

This protected freshwater wetlands serves as a sanctuary to migrating birds, native animals, and plants. The efforts of all our volunteers is greatly appreciated in the park and will improve this natural area, promoting growth in the local biodiversity of our environment.
