We will be rallying with the Queens community at David Dinkins Circle to call for equitable public investment in New York City’s “most underappreciated park.”
In response to recent reports from the Center for an Urban Future (CUF) and the Waterfront Alliance (WA) that investigate chronic infrastructure, climate, and maintenance challenges, the Alliance for FMCP is organizing a rally to call upon state, local and federal lawmakers to bring greater public investment to this park.

Waterfront Alliance’s Climate Change Resiliency Study
The CUF report was funded by the Alliance for FMCP as part of the first phase of its Vision 2050 initiative. This project aims to create a new master plan for FMCP that builds upon the last strategic plan, initiated by NYC Parks in 2004.
In partnership with the Center for an Urban Future, AFMCP, and the Waterfront Alliance, New Yorkers for Parks (NY4P) launched a petition harnessing strong public interest in and support for the reports’ recommendations to create a “Flood Fund” and invest in a climate-resilient Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
This rally will feature remarks from the Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, Center for an Urban Future Executive Director Jonathan Bowles, Alliance for FMCP Executive Director Anthony Sama, New Yorkers for Parks Executive Director Adam Ganser, and the Waterfront Alliance’s Director of Waterfront Design Joseph Sutkowi
When: Monday, October 27th at 10am
