National Trails Day Volunteer Event

NYC Parks Stewardship Team collaborated with the Environmental Stewardship Team on Saturday, June 4th, 10am-1pm for field training as part of the process to become a Super Steward, an independent steward of the natural areas of NYC! Volunteers were guided by Melissa from NYC Parks’ Natural Resources Division, who explained how to correctly identify and remove invasive plant species to help foster healthy and sustainable ecosystems. Volunteers also spread woodchips onto the trail to improve the path.
